Peace,
it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

ABOUT ME

MY APPROACH

Hello, I'm Kim Jordan, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with a passion for helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate life's challenges. As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognize the profound impact that past experiences can have on our present lives. I approach therapy with empathy, compassion, and a deep understanding of the complex nature of trauma. Together, we will work collaboratively to explore your unique journey, process difficult emotions, and develop coping strategies to facilitate healing and growth.

You are the expert of your own life.  I will work alongside you to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and strengths. I recognize the complex interplay between substance abuse, trauma, and self-destructive tendencies, and tailor my treatment approach accordingly. My comprehensive approach to treatment addresses not only the symptoms but also the underlying issues, helping my clients build a strong foundation for lasting change.

My commitment to fostering a supportive environment extends to individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and backgrounds. I am a staunch ally and advocate, and I strive to create a space where everyone feels respected, understood, and validated. I am knowledgeable about the specific challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ and BiPOC communities and work to ensure culturally competent care that addresses the unique needs of each individual and cultural background.

I also believe in the healing power of fun, humor and laughter. Many who have experienced childhood trauma were not able to play in their imagination. One of the most powerful tools for healing is learning how to use your imagination to experience what you were not able to in childhood. For my clients who have lost touch with it, I can help them reconnect with or discover their sense of joy, whimsy and creativity.

I am deeply committed to ongoing professional development and stay up to date with the latest research and techniques in the field of mental health. By combining my expertise with your unique experiences and strengths, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

If you are ready to take the first step towards healing and empowerment, I am here to support you. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, cultivate resilience, and create a life of greater well-being and fulfillment. Let's embark on this transformative journey together.

EXPERIENCE

I'm a mental health professional with over 13 years of experience of providing compassionate care to individuals who have experienced disruptions in attachments with family members and other significant relationships, panic attacks, anxiety, depression, eating disordered behavior, coercive control, or domestic violence. In addition to supporting the individual I recognize and acknowledge the impact of our social systems on marginalized groups. My understanding of trauma's profound impact on the mind and body has informed my intentional creation of a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where my clients can heal and regain a more well rounded emotional experience. I help clients step away from judgment and move toward holding a space of curiosity.

If you struggle with symptoms of anxiety, depression, overwhelm, panic attacks, eating disordered behaviors, poor sleep patterns, chaotic or abusive relationship patterns, self harm, body dysmorphia, feeling like you're in general "not good enough" I may be a good fit to support your healing journey.
